About

Booyah.

My name is Joe. I love writing and video games. This is my blog where I write about video games. I also have a webseries about forgotten retro games called The Backlog.

Joseph Tiberious “Sky” Walker (Aka The Main Man, aka The Living Legend, aka Scoots McGee, aka Big Daddy Koopa) came into the world kicking and screaming on a balmy night in 1984 in Sacramento, California. He was born with an NES controller in his hands, which means either his mother’s pregnancy cravings were weird, his father was part robot, or that he was lying about it. Either way, it was a symbol for a passion that would last a lifetime.

Most children grow up wanting to be an astronaut, a fireman, or a dinosaur, but ever since April 1994 when he picked up Electronic Gaming Monthly issue #58, Joe wanted to write about video games. He also briefly considered a job as a Jedi Knight, but gave up when he realized his Force powers only worked on automatic doors.

Joe wrote for his high school paper for 4 years, where he was in charge of the humor section, and did awesome things like trick-or-treat two weeks early, start a boy band, and offer a clone of himself as a Christmas gift. After high school and college he relegated himself to the unyeilding pull of the miserable void known as retail.

He currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts, with his super hot wife, who shares Joe’s passion for all things totally rad and not lame. Together they will one day produce not only the most awesome child ever gifted to the world, but also the most attractive.

As print journalism dies a slow, agonizing death, Joe turned his focus to blogging, where anyone can write about anything and they don’t need any degree from a fancy university to prove they know how to write. PK Bloggin’!, which takes its name from the SNES masterpiece EarthBound, was conceived in early 2009 and finally given life on December 31, 2009, which Joe claims is his last act “before the future. 2010, you know?” which he pronounces as “twenty-ten” because it sounds better.

PK Bloggin’! is not a news blog, but rather a personal blog with a strong focus on gaming. Rather than repost news from sites like Joystiq and Kotaku, PK Bloggin’! will instead focus on reactions to news stories, editorials on the industry, and whatever other weird articles seem like a good idea.

Despite the fact I work at a health food store, I freakin' love Game Fuel.
