My Great Idea for a Legend of Korra Video Game
I am ridiculously enthralled with Avatar: The Legend of Korra (I’m following fan blogs on Tumblr for god’s sake) and even though it’s only eight episodes long at this point I’ve got a kickass idea for a Korra video game that someone should pay me a lot of money for.
Check it out: sidescrolling beat-em-up for up to four players, with six playable characters to choose from: Korra, Bolin, Mako, Asami, Tenzin and Lin, each with their own fighting style and bending abilities. Mako would use quick firebending strikes, Bolin would use slower, heavier earthbending attacks and Asami, who cannot bend, would use her badass lightning glove.
But don’t just limit the different bending moves to just fighting, though; give each stage branching paths with special areas that can only be opened by specific benders, like a giant boulder than can only be moved by Bolin, metal doors that only Lin can move or a giant chasm that Tenzin has to lift the team over with airbending. To keep Korra from being overpowered, limit the special areas she can open to ones that require waterbending.
Each character’s playstyle could also reflect their bending too. For example, earthbenders use strong, deliberate movements, so Bolin’s moves could require slow, focused button combos. Waterbending is very fluid and graceful, so take those moves off of buttons altogether and have them require movements with the second analog stick. Holy crap these are awesome ideas.
It HAS to have a leveling system, though. Stats can increase with levels, and you could earn yuon which you can spend to purchase new moves.
Make plenty of stages using the gorgeous art from the series. Republic City has no shortage of distinctive areas, so you could fight your way through Air Temple Island, the Pro Bending Arena and even the different districts of the city itself.
Or they could make an MMO. That would be rad as hell too.

Hmmmm. I was never into Avatar when it first came out. I decided to give Legend of Korra a chance despite that and watched the first episode. Still don’t like it, but eh.
However, if they made a Legend of Korra game that was good, I would definitely buy it. What you’ve described is basically the fantasy set-up for a beat ‘em up game. Castle Crashers with some extra features is the what comes to mind with your idea. I can only hope that if it is turned into a game it isn’t one of the numerous crappy cash-ins we know and love.
Why don’t they create a sims like game instead I mean like you can chat,go on dates, and you can create your own character or select from korra, mako, bolin, asami etc(you can also fight chi-blockers ,amon and save people and fight that new creature.
