PK Podcast! Episode 9 – 04/16/2010

Hey the podcast is back! Hoorah! Tonight we play a little bit of catch-up, and discuss the perception of the stereotypical gamer. It’s a little disorganized this week, but we’re getting back into the swing of things after a few weeks off. We’ll be back in form next week.

The site I mentioned in the podcast is The Spartan’s Sanctum.

Also, if there are any weird audio hiccups or anything, when we stopped recording the podcast, Audacity crashed and broke the podcast into over 200 different pieces of audio. Christina, who is wonderful and amazing, just spent the last hour piecing it back together.

Hope you enjoy the podcast, and we promise not to miss any more for a while!

Thoroughly enjoyed the show. I totally agree! Being smart and gaming in general is cool now – just look at the popularity of Poker, Halo, and Guitar Hero. The main reason gaming even has any negative stereotypes left (save for a couple of clearly mistaken people like remove-Ocarina-of-Time-guy) is because people continue to perpetuate them. The superpower Joe, while awesome, is becoming more and more common – people just don’t think about it.

As far as rambling vs structured goes, I thought this was fine. It’s actually fun to listen to you guys just talk and jump around from place to place because it brings up a wide range of topics and really highlights your chemistry. If it was all total rambling it might get old fast, but as long as there’s some pillar of central structure the off-topic discussions add to the show, not detract from it.

Blue dragon, Mother 3, Pokemon soul silver, Megaman Battle Network 2, Summon Night 1+2, and TWEWY.
All not very much like oot. ‘Specially summon night.

We were talking about third person action games, though. :P

That’s a 2D platformer. :P There is not a single 3D action game that doesn’t show SOME kind of influence from Ocarina of Time. You’re helping me prove it. :)

Ummm……Well, I don’t care if I’m helping you. I just feel like blurting out games.
    Ooh! MGS and MP!
Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess isn’t very much like OOT at all. If they are from the same series I would be surprised. [/Joking]
